    • If the blue LED status light is lit up in anyway (flashing, blinking, steady on, etc) the battery is NOT off. Release the button, and press and hold for slightly longer until the blue LED goes off.

    • Ensure all of the batteries are off before proceeding.

  2. Remove all the screws securing the battery compartment cover to the shower wall and the garage floor using a #2 Phillips bit. You may need to remove the screw caps using a small pick or pry tool to gain access to the screws. Also remove the three screws on top of the battery compartment. Remove the screws securing the rear door screen to the side of the battery compartment cover. Flip the screen up and over the door hinge as shown so it is not in the way.

  3. Remove the cover on the 120V outlet on the battery compartment cover by using a small pick or pry tool. Loosen (but do not completely remove) the two screws securing the outlet into the opening. Gently pull the outlet out and turn the outlet so it can be pushed back into the opening in the battery compartment cover.

  4. With all the screws removed and the outlet removed, you can GENTLY pry the battery compartment away from the wall to gain access to the lower compartment. Some wires on the rear corner of the battery compartment cover will still be attached. (solar plug, 12v/USB outlets, light switch) So take care when pulling the cover out of the way you do not accidentally disconnect any of those wires or damage the cover. Locate the new battery tray and the battery securement strap. Place the battery tray into the compartment with the strap running underneath the tray in the center. We want the smooth (not fuzzy) side of the velcro strap facing up against the tray.

    • In the second image, you will see approx. 3" of strap extending past the tray. Ensure the strap is set up like this image.

    • With the tray centered in the battery compartment, use a #2 Phillips bit to screw the tray to the compartment. We have found it easiest to install the two rear screws first. Make sure you do not screw through the strap!

  5. Reach into the opening to find the battery cables for the 5th battery. They will be coiled up next to the compartment, and may be zip tied. Cut any zip ties securing the battery cables, and feed the cables through the opening in upper right rear corner of the compartment. Make sure the battery cables are not kinked or being strained on anything going into the compartment. Ensure the grommet is installed into the hole of the compartment. If the grommet is not present, a spare grommet is included in the 5th battery kit. Install the grommet into the hole of the compartment.

  6. Place the battery in front of the compartment as shown. You want the terminals towards the rear, and the On/Off button for the battery to be in the front left. Make sure the battery is OFF before connecting the cables! Use the supplied hardware to connect the positive (red) battery cable to the positive terminal of the battery. The order of the hardware is as follows: bolt, lock washer, flat washer. Tighten the bolt using a 13mm socket and wrench.

    • Try to have the battery cables curve as shown so they are not strained when you slide the battery into the compartment.

  7. Make sure you did not accidentally turn the battery on! The battery must be OFF! Start sliding the battery into the compartment and onto the tray. As you are sliding the battery into place, lift the battery strap over the battery. Make sure the velcro strap is not over top of the cables, and is under the cables as shown in the second image.

    • Push the battery all the way into the compartment, and fully onto the tray. Make sure the battery cables are not being pinched by the battery, and are not preventing the battery from being slid all the way onto the tray.

  8. With the battery fully slid into the mounting tray, slide the end of the strap into the buckle, and secure the battery.

  9. Slide the cover back into place and feed the outlet back through the opening in the cover. Place the compartment cover back into place. Reinstall all the screws previously removed. You can also reinstall the screen back into place using the hardware previously removed. Re-secure the outlet into the cover by tightening the screws. Once the outlet is back into place, place the outlet cover back into place.
